There is an annual fee for this service but don’t let that stop you from reaping the rewards from Prime day.

You’ll get free 2 day shipping, not all items may apply, but you should be able to get most of your purchases by Friday. Now you’re all set to participate in the biggest online summer sale of the year, let’s see how you can get the best possible deals.

Fill out your wishlist

Start by adding items to your wishlist, this will be an easy way to monitor the items you’re interested in. We also recommend filling your wishlist with items you need, instead of your wants. This might be easier said than done, but take a minute to ask yourself “how much do I need this?” That will keep your priorities in line but remember there will be plenty of temptations. If you do have any buyer’s remorse, remember you have up to 30 days to return and get full refund from Amazon.

Where to look and when to shop

Prime day will start at 12am PST (3 am EST) and will end at 11:59 pm PST on the 15th. After you’ve double checked your wishlist for any great deals, you’ll want to check the Amazon front page for any flash sales. Be prepared for a mayhem of deals and there might be some sifting you need to do to find the golden deals. If you don’t have time for that, use sites like Slickdeals and Fatwallet to help you find those golden deals. Check these sites once in the morning, sometime around noon and again later in the day, to make sure you’ve got all your bases covered. Some deals might only be valuable for a short time or because of a limited stock, checking in frequently gives you the greatest chance of finding a stellar deal.

Deal sites will also help you keep your feelers out for competitive deals. Walmart has also announced they’ll be doing their own sale extravaganza on the same day – Target will be joining by having their Black Friday in July, this week. Other retailers are likely to follow suite, so keep in mind that the best deal might not be at Amazon. Be the smart shopper we know you to be and always double check for a better price.
